Partnering With The Community Prior to Construction

More than a dozen San Mateo County cities sent representatives to a luncheon event to learn more about the Water System Improvement Program (WSIP) projects in the Peninsula region this spring. Participating CSPL2 cities included Hillsborough, Burlingame, Millbrae, South San Francisco, San Bruno and Daly City.

“The primary goal of the event was to partner with community leaders in the County, while gathering information on how to best communicate with them as ongoing construction begins as early as this summer.” said Peninsula Region Project Manger Husam Masri.

The event targeted state and county elected officials, city councils, city engineers, city public works supervisors, emergency service organizations, transit agencies, school districts, business groups, civic groups, recreational groups and local reporters.

Peninsula project teams responded to questions at an open house prior to a formal presentation to nearly 100 participants. Feedback forms were collected at the event, and confirmed the event to be extremely helpful and a success. Many attendees congratulated the SFPUC for its proactive preconstruction communication efforts.

Please look for upcoming CSPL2 e-mail updates when our project reaches CEQA certification late this summer. If you would like to submit your e-mail address to our e-mail distribution list or receive more information about our project, please call 866-973-1476 for more information.
